Investing in a garden design will help ensure you’re moving towards the landscape or home orchard you dream of. Using a ecological and holistic approach, I help translate your goals and personal esthetic into a design that works for your lifestyle, your family and your site. Master Plans include:

  • Two meetings at your site

  • Base map of your site

  • Layout master plan with hardscape elements/paths/beds

  • Planting diagram and planting palette ‘snapshots’

  • Detailed plant list with care notes

  • Resources for maintenance and installation

Master Plans vary in price — for a typical urban lot, design fees range from $1,800 for a front yard or $3,500 for a full yard plan.

Garden coaching is for the “DIYers” who wants to do some, if not all, of the work themselves. It’s a great option for those who don’t want or need a master plan, but still want professional guidance with aspects of the garden such as:

  • Hardscape elements, planting beds, and pathways

  • Proper plant selection and placement

  • Water and soil needs

  • Weeds and invasive species management

  • Maintenance and seasonal tasks

Coaching can take place bi-annually, seasonally, monthly, or as needed. An initial consult is often the first step in determining if ongoing design and garden coaching is something you and your garden would benefit from. Email or call to discuss your project and goals and/or to schedule your initial consult today!

A consultation can be the first step in the design or garden coaching process, or it can also be a stand-alone service to help guide plans and next steps for your property.

$150 — 90 min. Travel fees apply outside the Portland metro area.

“We're currently working with her on re-designing our front yard. Have dug up some lawn, am building a path, and have planted some natives. April's wonderful and very knowledgeable on native species and fruit trees! She is also involved in our community, having given a talk at the recent Arbor Lodge Brian Duncan Fruit Tree Giveaway. We're fans!” - Greg MacCrone
